Trim Levels of the 2019 Kia Sorento
As you probably already know, the Kia Sorento is an adventurous mid-size SUV that has something for everyone. You’ll have your choice between eight distinguished Trim Levels of the 2019 Kia Sorento, each offering you a different driving experience. The trim levels available in the 2019 Kia Sorento are the L, the LX, the LX V6, the S V6, the EX V6, the EX Sport, the SX, and the SX Limited. There are many differences and similarities between these trim levels, and today we’re here to help you choose which one is right for you.
2019 Kia Sorento Trim Level Standard Features
The L is the base model for this year’s Trim Levels of the 2019 Kia Sorento, but don’t think that means it doesn’t have a ton of features included. All models of the Sorento include multiple 12V power outlets, allowing you to charge your phone or other devices on the go. Also included is a seven-inch touchscreen display, a six-speaker sound system, remote keyless entry and more.
Many of the features included in the base L trim are also found in many of the higher trim options, such as the rear-camera display, 40/20/40 split-folding second-row and 50/50 split-folding third-row seating, and power door locks with speed sensing lock and impact sensing unlock features.
The Kia Sorento L also features body-color heated side mirrors with turn signal indicators, privacy glass for the rear seat and cargo areas, a rear spoiler and more. While many people often assume the worst when it comes to the base model of a vehicle, the 2019 Kia Sorento L offers many features that should convince drivers it is a worthy choice.
Trim Level Power and Safety of the 2019 Kia Sorento
The L and the LX both feature a 2.4L DOHC 16-valve I-4 engine, with dual continuously variable valve timing, and an electronically controlled six-speed automatic transmission. This engine allows for the most efficiency across any of the 2019 Sorento trim levels, providing an EPA-estimated 22 MPG in the city and 29 MPG on the highway, for a combined total of 25 MPG.
The LX also shares a number of safety features with not only the L trim level, but across the board with the Sorento. We’ll take this time to briefly talk about some of those features. These include dual front advanced airbags, a rollover sensor, and four-wheel antilock disc brakes. There are rear child-safety door locks, electronic stability and traction control systems, side-impact door beams and more.
What does set the LX apart from the L trim level, if not safety and performance? The answer lies with interior features primarily. For instance, you won’t be able to find the blind spot collision warning feature on the L, but it is available on the LX trim level and above. The LX and above also all feature power windows, rear cross traffic collision warnings, and dual USB 2.1 charging ports. The difference between the LX and LX V6 is quite self-explanatory, with the LX V6 offering a more powerful engine than the standard LX. Upgrading to the V6 brings along another major improvement with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
2019 Kia Sorento Trim Level Amenities
As we continue looking at the available Trim Levels of the 2019 Kia Sorento, we’re starting to see more luxurious standard features, like a leather-wrapped steering wheel, heated front seats, and reverse park distance warning. By upgrading to the V6 engine, you’ll see up to 290 horsepower and 252 lb.-ft. of torque available.
Starting with the EX V6, you will begin to see features like projector beam front fog lights, a programmable liftgate height adjustment, and an auto-dimming rear view mirror. The EX V6 also offers an electronic parking brake with auto-hold, forward collision avoidance and warning, and a smart key with push-button start and immobilizer.
